Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard missed the first USA pre-season tour training session on Monday due to a minor complaint.
The Norwegian has been reported as being ill after touching down across the pond ahead of the start of the club’s tour this week. His illness is not thought to be a serious one and Odegaard is expected not to be sidelined for too long.
The Gunners completed their first open training session in Los Angeles on Monday ahead of the beginning of their tour. Over the next ten days, Mikel Arteta’s side will take on Premier League rivals; AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool as they prepare for the new campaign.
Odegaard’s status for the first match against the Cherries in the early hours of Thursday is unclear due to this illness. Arsenal’s captain was one of the better performers for Arteta last season as they pushed Manchester City all the way to the final day of the campaign.
