The 2024-25 NFL season is coming to a close, and teams across the league are making decisions about their head coaches.
Less than 24 hours after the Cleveland Browns’ season ended with a 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens giving them a 3-14 record, head coach Kevin Stefanski is reportedly coming back for the 2025 season, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
The Browns had a below-.500 season for the first time since 2022. There were a litany of struggles this season, particularly at quarterback. Cleveland started with Deshaun Watson under center and was forced to turn to backups in Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson after Watson suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in late October.
Stefanski, who just completed his fourth season in Cleveland, will reportedly return after making some key staffing changes. Let’s take a look at why the Browns are deciding to bring back Stefanski after their lowest win total since 2013.
Why didn’t the Browns fire Kevin Stefanski?
The decision to retain their head coach apparently stems from Stefanski choosing to part ways with offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, who was fired on Sunday after just one season with the Browns.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Stefanski also parted ways with offensive line coach Andy Dickerson. Pelissero adds that Cleveland is not expected to also part ways with Stefanski.
