The Dallas Cowboys will have some work to do retooling their roster this offseason.
“America’s Team” has 25 pending free agents, nearly half a full roster’s worth of players ready to hit the open market.
Included in Dallas’ list of pending free agents are two of its starting defensive linemen, DeMarcus Lawrence and Osa Odighizuwa; its starting running back, Rico Dowdle; and two of the three quarterbacks behind Dak Prescott on its depth chart.
After giving out large extensions to Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb last offseason, Dallas team owner/general manager Jerry Jones will have some big decisions to make to improve the roster. The Cowboys finished 7-10 in 2024 and will need to find a way to return to their winning ways in a division that features both NFC championship game participants – including the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Cowboys free agents in 2025
According to OverTheCap.com, Dallas has 25 players set to become free agents at the start of the new league year, in mid-March. Twenty of them are unrestricted free agents, meaning they are free to sign with any team once their contracts are up. The remaining five are either exclusive rights free agents (ERFA) or restricted free agents (RFA), whom the Cowboys can choose to sign before any other team.
