With the first month of the new Premier League campaign now in the books, it’s time to decide who should be crowned August’s Player of the Month!
We’ve gone through the first three games of the season unbeaten, taking seven points from nine and recording two impressive victories already – and there have been some standout displays in the early weeks.
Here are the four contenders for the campaign’s first accolade – see who you deem worthy and vote for them below:
Kai Havertz
Having ended last season on a hot scoring streak, Kai has taken that form into 2024/25. He opened the scoring against Wolves, and then went on to assist Bukayo Saka to seal the win – marking the fifth time in 2024 that he walked off the pitch at the end of a league game with a goal and an assist in his pocket.
He followed that up with a delicate lob to score against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, and his first outside the box in the Premier League – taking him up to seven goals in his last 11 outings in the competition.
David Raya
Our shot-stopper has two clean sheets already as he aims to better his tally of 16 last term, but in doing so has been holding his own Save of the Month competition with a pair of world-class stops to show his sharpness in the early weeks.
First up he denied Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen when his header seemed destined to find the net, but our Spaniard managed to shift his body weight and get a glove on the effort, but better was to come against Aston Villa when from a stranded position on his goalline, he lept up to tip away Ollie Watkins’ header as he looked certain to score from a rebound.
William Saliba
The only player in the Premier League to record more shutouts than Raya last term was William, and he too has two to his name thanks to some stellar defending in our backline.
His standout moment also came against Villa when he managed to chase down Jacob Ramsey as he bore down on goal, and just as the midfielder was about to pull the trigger, the Frenchman pounced with a superb block to snuff out the danger.
Bukayo Saka
Bukayo became only the second Gunner ever to notch an assist in each of his first three Premier League games by setting up Havertz twice and also Thomas Partey at Villa Park, keeping Thierry Henry in good company who achieved the feat in 2004/05.
He also managed to get on the scoresheet for the first time this campaign on the opening day when he netted in trademark fashion against Wolves, cutting inside from the right and flashing a shot into the net past the helpless Jose Sa.
