Arsenal signed Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal for £30 million.
The Norway international has been one of Arteta’s best players for years now. He is the captain of the club and is their biggest creative threat.
Arsenal badly missed Odegaard when he was out of action for two months due to an ankle injury. He returned and hit the ground running, helping Arsenal go 13 games unbeaten.
Odegaard’s form has dropped a bit in recent weeks and that has led to some criticism. However, Amorim is still very aware of how good a player he is and has heaped praise on him.
The Manchester United boss has claimed that Arsenal are a ‘different team’ when Odegaard plays.
“I played against them with Sporting, and he didn’t play both games and you feel it in the team. When he’s playing, Arsenal is a different team.
“They can win and they can lose with Odegaard. I expect a strong team. If Odegaard is in the team, they will be stronger, for sure.”
The Norwegian is one of the most creative players in world football, and he has performed magnificently for Arsenal on several occasions.
However, over the last few weeks, Odegaard has not been at his best, and we think we know the real reason why – Bukayo Saka’s injury.
Saka and Odegaard had formed one of the best partnerships in the Premier League on the right side of the pitch. The two players had a near-telepathic understanding and caused problems to every side.
