Report – Man Utd lead PL clubs for midfield signing after £58.8million bid already tabled

Man Utd are leading the race among Premier League clubs to sign Joao Neves having already tabled a bid worth £58.8million.

The move was revealed earlier this month and it was turned down by Benfica. Still, as per the latest update, the Red Devils are ahead of the English sides.

As per today’s edition of Record, the qualities of Joao Neves are highly appreciated in England and Man Utd are still ‘vigilant’.

The renowned Portuguese media outlet have stated that the Old Trafford outfit are ‘at the forefront’ of the interested parties in PL and have seen a proposal worth 70 million euros already rejected.

Apart from United, arch rivals, Liverpool, noisy neighbors, Manchester City and Arsenal are also attentive to the situation of the Seleccao midfielder.

Outside England, Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on signing Joao Neves and the 19-year-old is also on the radar of German giants, Bayern Munich.

The number of top European clubs after his signature clearly indicate the teenager is a extremely talented midfielder.

Holding midfield stars have been in high demand. Last season, Arsenal and Chelsea broke the £100million barrier to sign the likes of Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo respectively.

Liverpool opted to lure Endo and City already have arguably the best DM in the world in the form of Rodri, who was named the Player of the Tournament at the Euros.

Therefore, Erik ten Hag needs to invest to strengthen the position as Casemiro is well past his prime. Should Man Utd raise the bid to lure Joao Neves?

Reports have indicated that a fee of at least 100 million euros will be needed to sign the youngster.
