Mason Mount fires clear new message to Erik ten Hag after Man United decision

Mason Mount has seemingly sent a message to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag with his latest social media post.

Mount is currently enjoying his summer break ahead of the new Premier League campaign. United will start pre-season training at Carrington later this month before travelling to the United States.

Ten Hag will take charge of pre-season training as the build-up continues to the start of the new season, which gets underway for United at home to Fulham on August 16.

The Dutchman will hope to have as many players available for pre-season as early as possible to prepare for the campaign ahead.

Mount will be one of the players expected back this month for pre-season training. The United No.7 endured a difficult campaign last term, with injuries restricting him to just 20 appearances across all competitions.

On Friday, Mount posted a series of photos on Instagram which showed his pre-season preparations are already underway. The post, which only used a brick emoji for a captain, featured Mount taking part in several fitness programmes either in the gym or on the training ground.

Mount will be keen to show Ten Hag during pre-season that he can be a valuable member of the squad in the forthcoming campaign. United agreed a £55million deal with Chelsea to sign the midfielder last summer.

After months of uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford, that came to an end after United announced the Dutchman had signed a new contract. Ten Hag’s new deal will run until the summer of 2026 and will now be focused on ensuring the club enjoys a successful campaign in what will be his third season in charge.
