Manchester United youngsters Ashton Missin, Jacob Devaney and Tom Myles have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
United’s Under-18s enjoyed a stunning season in the 2023/24, completing a treble and winning two of those trophies at the expense of rivals Manchester City.
Last season’s U18 side were supremely talented and they have been compared to the FA Youth Cup winning squad of 2022, which included the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Willy Kambwala and Dan Gore.
Some of the U18 stars from last term have already been given professional contracts, which can only be signed once a player is 17, and United have handed out more deals this week.
Missin, who played on the left and right wing last season, has been given his first professional contract and he contributed four goals and two assists in the league. The 17-year-old was born in Halifax and is making up for lost time having been sidelined in 2022/23 with injury.
Devaney celebrated his 17th birthday last month, his natural position is defensive midfielder and he played 22 of a possible 24 games in the U18s’ league campaign.
He was born in Yorkshire and his father, Martin Devaney, is the assistant coach at League One club Barnsley. Devaney qualifies to play for the Republic of Ireland through his grandparents.
Myles, who is a goalkeeper, made important saves on the way to the U18s’ league triumph and kept eight clean sheets in 19 league appearances
Kingdon, who has featured in Scotland’s youth ranks (eligible through his father), trained with the first-team for the first time in April and captained the U18s on a few occasions.
Ethan Williams contributed 17 goals and nine assists in academy fixtures last season and his pre-agreed professional contract was activated this summer.
