Manchester United have announced that Joshua Zirkzee has been handed the No.11 shirt ahead of his first season at the club.
United unveiled Zirkzee as their first signing of the summer transfer window last month, signing him from Bologna in a deal worth €42.5million. He put pen to paper on a five-year contract, featuring the option of an additional year.
United entered this summer’s transfer window with the ambition of signing a new attacker and they identified Zirkzee as a player who they felt could provide competition and support for Rasmus Hojlund. United trimmed their forward line at the end of last season after Anthony Martial was not offered a new deal.
