Manchester United look set to have a busy summer transfer window if the latest rumours are to be believed.
The Reds are yet to make any new additions to their squad this summer, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from swirling. Erik ten Hag’s future as manager has also been the subject of speculation, but that was put to an end after he signed a new contract that runs until 2026.
United are known to be interested in signing two centre-backs this summer. There have also been rumours that Ten Hag could look to sign a midfielder and a striker to his squad before the transfer window closes.
According to German news outlet Sport Bild, United have taken a “big step” towards completing a deal to sign Matthijs de Ligt. The report claims that the Reds are prepared to meet Bayern Munich’s asking price of €50million (£42million) to sign De Ligt this summer.
United are keen to complete a deal quickly to bring De Ligt to Old Trafford. The centre-back is currently with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024, but is yet to play a single minute for his country at the tournament.
De Ligt is one centre-back United are known to be looking to sign this summer, along with Jarrad Branthwaite and Leny Yoro.
Elsewhere, United are continuing to be linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. According to French news outlet Le10 Sport, the Reds are moving a closer to signing the Uruguay international this summer.
