Arsenal is looking to secure the services of two Real Madrid players as Mikel Arteta seeks to enhance the team.

Reports suggest that Arsenal is showing a strong interest in acquiring the services of two Real Madrid players, namely Brazilian winger Rodrygo Goes and Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Gunners have already made contact with Real Madrid regarding the 23-year-old forward, and it is believed that Liverpool is also considering a potential move for him.

In addition, Defensa Central recently reported Arsenal’s keenness to sign Lunin, stating that the club is prepared to offer £17.2 million for his services in July. However, if a deal cannot be reached during the summer transfer window, the Gunners are reportedly open to the possibility of signing him on a free transfer in 2025.

Rodrygo joined Real Madrid in 2019 for a fee of €45 million, having previously played for his childhood club Santos. Although he initially faced challenges in adapting to the Santiago Bernabeu, he has since become an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. This season, he has contributed 13 goals and eight assists in 41 games, bringing his overall tally to 50 goals and 40 assists in 206 appearances for the club.

Lunin, on the other hand, has served as a reliable backup to the main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois since his arrival at Real Madrid in 2018. However, following Courtois’ season-ending injury at the beginning of the 2023-24 campaign, the Ukrainian goalkeeper has stepped up and showcased his abilities, keeping 10 clean sheets in 23 appearances.

Arsenal’s interest in these two Real Madrid players demonstrates their ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

According to reports from the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal is said to be preparing an official proposal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Díaz in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Díaz, who was once regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Europe during his time at Manchester City academy, experienced a setback in his progress after joining Real Madrid in a £15m deal. As a result, he was sent out on loan to AC Milan after failing to establish himself at the Spanish capital.

Although Díaz has been featuring regularly at AC Milan, he hasn’t been able to showcase his best performances in the Italian top-flight. Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta, who previously worked with the Spaniard as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, still holds admiration for the young midfielder and desires a reunion with him at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

According to Sport Witness, Corriere dello Sport’s print version suggests that Díaz is likely to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season after completing his loan spell with Milan. This is because Milan is not willing to activate his current £19m buy option and is seeking to negotiate a more affordable deal.

However, Arsenal seems determined to outbid Milan in securing the services of the 23-year-old midfielder. Díaz’s current contract with Real Madrid is set to expire in June 2025, and the Gunners are reportedly ready to submit a formal offer to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has publicly stated that he is willing to sell the Ukrainian goalkeeper if he expresses a desire to leave the club. Fabrizio Romano has verified the club’s stance on Lunin, sharing on X that “Real Madrid have put together a new contract offer for Andriy Lunin. Although his current deal runs until 2025, Real is keen on retaining him.”

Real Madrid is also determined to keep Rodrygo, as evidenced by his recent contract extension until 2028, which includes a release clause of €1000 million.
