The Ligue 1 club famously activated the Brazilian’s 222 million euro buyout clause to bring the forward to Parc des Princes in a transfer that sent shockwaves across Europe.
Barcelona went on to reinvest in the squad by bringing in players including Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, but Pique says he would have used it differently.
Barcelona are now in the process of renovating the Camp Nou stadium and are hoping to return to their home at the end of the year.
