NHL Player Safety has announced that former Boston Bruins forward Pat Maroon has been fined $3,385.42 for elbowing. This is the maximum allowable fine under the current CBA.
The incident happened during the third period of the Chicago Blackhawks’ 5-1 loss to the Dallas Stars. On the play, Maroon elbowed Dallas Stars forward Mavrik Bourque and was given a two-minute minor for roughing. He was also given a separate two-minute minor penalty for holding.
Maroon signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Blackhawks this past off-season. This was after he finished the 2023-24 season with the Bruins. In two regular-season games as a Bruin, he had zero points and 11 hits. He also appeared in 13 post-season games for Boston, posting two assists and 18 penalty minutes.
