After spending more than a decade with Mercedes, the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton is now all set to embark on a new adventure in his Formula 1 career. He has signed with the oldest and the most successful team in F1, Scuderia Ferrari. At the start of 2025, the Brit officially joined the Italian team and will now set his sights on securing an eighth World Drivers’ Championship title. This victory would make him the most decorated driver in history, surpassing the retired German legend Michael Schumacher, with whom he is currently tied at seven titles.
After finishing P7 during the Sprint Qualifying in Qatar, a heartbroken Hamilton had stated that he was slow and was not able to race fast anymore. The 39-year-old’s aforementioned claims recirculated recently after he joined Ferrari, and when Vasseur was asked about Hamilton’s self-doubt, the Ferrari boss shook his head in disagreement and expressed that he is not at all worried about Hamilton’s form and gave an example of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where he went from P10 to P2.
With fresh updates and a new team behind him, it will be intriguing to see what 2025 has in store for Hamilton and whether he can finally claim his long-awaited eighth World Championship title.
