The Boston Red Sox have signed right-handed pitcher Walker Buehler to a one-year, $21.05 million contract, with an additional $2.5 million in performance incentives.
Buehler, a two-time All-Star and World Series champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers, is expected to bolster Boston’s starting rotation.
In the 2024 regular season, Buehler posted a 1-6 record with a 5.38 ERA over 16 starts, reflecting his recovery from a second Tommy John surgery. However, he excelled in the postseason, notably shutting out the Yankees in Game 3 of the World Series and securing the title-clinching save in Game 5.
The Red Sox aim to harness this postseason prowess to strengthen their rotation, which includes recent additions like Garrett Crochet.
As of now, there have been no public comments from former Yankees coaches regarding Buehler’s signing with the Red Sox.
