Eddie Nketiah hints at true Arsenal transfer feelings after Marseille ‘agreement’ reached

Eddie Nketiah has dropped a subtle Arsenal transfer hint amid talks to join Marseille for the upcoming campaign. A departure for the Gunners striker this summer is a real possibility with the French club showing a keen interest in acquiring his services.

The 25-year-old featured significantly in the first half of the last campaign, in the absence of key players due to injury, but he then did not make one Premier League start in 2024. As has been showcased, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are undoubtedly above him in the pecking order and that certainly makes an exit being sealed more likely.

Both parties appear open to parting ways and it looks as though Marseille are the club hoping to benefit. Roberto De Zerbi’s side have already agreed personal terms with Nketiah,

Nonetheless, talks are expected to continue with the latest bid from Marseille at the value of £23.1million (€27m) which is closer to the £30million Arsenal want. However, it does not appear as though Nketiah is their priority with a deal to sign Youssoufa Moukoko on a season-long from Borussia Dortmund very close to being finalised.

There is no guarantee Marseille come back in with an improved bid for Nketiah, however Arsenal are clearly intent on removing the stigma they cannot achieve fair value for their assets. With that in mind, the Hale End graduate could yet remain in north London and a social media post has hinted at his true transfer feelings.
