Do Cowboys Have A Plan To Replace Zack?

You could have been forgiven for thinking that someone has a Dallas Cowboys voodoo doll which they are putting pins in with the amount of injuries Mike McCarthy’s team has dealt with this season.

The likes of DeMarcus Lawrence, Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland, Brandin Cooks, Jake Ferguson, Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland, Tyler Smith, and now Zack Martin will have all missed time this season.

Martin’s injury, which now requires season-ending surgery, is the latest gut punch for the Cowboys, who have just had no luck with the injury bug in 2024.

He’s focusing on getting healthy,” McCarthy said of Martin on 105.3 The Fan. “This is the hard part of the game, no one really gets to go through this game with the injury challenging you, and just for his season to come to an end, we’re going to miss him but he’ll still be here as far as the everyday stuff. But this is all part of this challenge that we’re having this year as a team.”

Sitting at 5-7, the Cowboys’ season still isn’t over, and while making the playoffs doesn’t seem likely, as long as there’s hope, that’s all the team needs.

Now, with the likes of Brock Hoffman and/or T.J. Bass stepping in for Martin, the Cowboys’ offensive line will again be reshuffled, but the pair have put together some good performances this season. … and there are those who boldly think the Dallas O-line can survive just fine this way.

With an eye toward 2025, maybe it is the best thing for the pair to get live NFL reps so the coaching staff can get a proper evaluation.
