Barcelona have been handed something of a boost with news that Chelsea are no longer expected to move for Nico Williams.
The Athletic Club star’s future is the subject of intense speculation at present, particularly with the Spain star impressing for La Roja at Euro 2024.
Barcelona are believed to be really keen to bring in Williams, if finances allow, and spring the €55 million release clause in his contract.
Chelsea have been also been linked but are now seen as “unlikely” to move for Williams by Sky Sports.
The reports says his price tag is the “main issue” as Chelsea are “looking for value in the market” and are also worried about “how he’ll fit into the wage structure.”
Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Brazilian talent Messinho in this transfer window and are also expected to complete a move for Barcelona youngster Marc Guiu.
