Carlos Alcaraz tipped to have ‘fun’ with girls as Paula Badosa ‘won’t be happy’

The stars of the ATP Tour had some fun naming which of their rivals would do well if they entered Love Island.

Players were asked to choose three others to enter the reality dating show and some interesting names came up.

Matteo Berrettini claimed Carlos Alcaraz would have “fun”, while two stars thought Paula Badosa wouldn’t be happy if they picked her boyfriend, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

From Badosa and Tsitsipas to Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur, there are plenty of power couples across the tennis tours. But some players haven’t been so lucky in love.

Many tennis stars even popped the question during the off-season, with multiple engagement announcements coming out before Christmas. The proposals caught Alcaraz’s attention – he joked that he thought it would be “his turn” despite being single.

The Spaniard’s rivals have now stepped in, having their say on who they’d want to see on Love Island. And Alcaraz’s name quickly came up.

Naming three players he thought should go on the dating show, world No. 30 Berrettini told the ATP: “I would say Grigor [Dimitrov], good one.

“Andrea Vavassori, he likes to be on an island with a lot of girls. And then Carlitos Alcaraz, I think he’s going to have fun.”

Tsitsipas was also a popular pick, even though he’s been in a relationship with WTA No. 11 Badosa for almost two years. “Stef, I’m not going to do that. Paula is not going to be happy,” Berrettini added.

However, Dimitrov thought the Greek star was still a valid pick, while Britain’s Jack Draper was thrown into the mix.

“I’m a good wingman. I go Jack Draper, Hubie Hurkacz, maybe I take Stefanos. Paula will be mad,” he laughed.

De Minaur agreed that Alcaraz would thrive in the villa. “Matteo Berrettini, first one that comes to mind. Carlitos Alcaraz, Dimitrov. Bang,” he stated.

Berrettini also threw himself into the mix, agreeing that he would be happy to enter Love Island as a bombshell. Meanwhile, Arthur Fils picked 6’8” big server Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

“Gio. I don’t know, because he’s my friend and that’s the only guy I want to put under the bus,” Fils smiled.
