Browns’ Myles Garrett makes an admission on national TV that shows how bad he wants out of Cleveland

Myles Garrett made it known last week that he did not want to spend the future with the Cleveland Browns and he wanted to be traded away from the team he was taken No. 1 overall by in 2017.

Since requesting the trade publicly, Garrett has been on a media tour of sorts getting his side of the request out there. He wants to land with a team that has a future contending for a Super Bowl and he wants to win. By the way of his request, he does not believe that the Browns can do that.

Before the Super Bowl started on Sunday evening, Garrett appeared on NFL Countdown and was asked by Teddy Bruschi what he would be willing to do contractually to get out of Cleveland.

“I’m willing to do whatever it takes,” Garrett stated. “I want to have a chance to win those big games, to go out there and compete, to elevate a team as a player, as a teammate, as a leader, and to just come in and have an immediate effect.”

That statement alone backs the trade request by Garrett and shows that he does not want to be in Cleveland. Garrett, 29, is coming off his third straight season with 14 sacks and has shown no signs of slowing down. Garrett, who comes from the state of Texas, wants to be remembered for winning and not for personal accolades.

If the Browns are to budge on the request and change their stance on trading Garrett, it likely won’t be anytime soon. It becomes feasible to do as a post-June 1 move, then it becomes a little more possible. Cleveland would be going into a rebuild if they traded their franchise player while having Deshaun Watson’s massive contract on the books.

Garrett is loved in Cleveland and is one of the biggest fan favorites that the fort has seen. Things could get ugly between the two sides with this trade request now public. One thing is clear, however, and that is that Garrett wants out.
