The Boston Red Sox and left-handed pitcher Patrick Sandoval (28) agreed to a two-year, $18.25 million deal on Monday,
Sandoval will start the 2025 season on the IR, missing the first few months after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
The lefty has spent the first six years of his career with the Los Angeles Angels, coming off a season in which he threw a 5.08 ERA while giving up 85 hits and 35 walks in 79.2 innings with 81 strikeouts.
He had a career year in 2021 for the Angels throwing a 2.91 ERA and 151 strikeouts in 148.2 innings but has failed to get back to that stratosphere of numbers since.
He’ll join a Red Sox rotation that also brought on former Los Angeles Dodgers starter Walker Buehler and former Chicago White Sox starter Garrett Crochet this offseason.
