Erik ten Hag says he is “really pleased” with how goalscorer Amad performed in Manchester United’s 3-2 friendly win over Real Betis and praised one element of his display in particular.
The attacker scored United’s second goal of the night after 24 minutes, having won the penalty for Marcus Rashford’s opener six minutes prior. The Ivorian was taken off just after the hour mark amidst a swathe of pre-planned substitutions having impressed throughout his shift.
Amad was a potent threat to a Real Betis defence that included former Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin. His teammate on the other flank, ex-Southampton left-back Romain Perraud, was given a hard time by Amad, who will be aiming to trump the 12 senior appearances he made last season this time around.
