BARCELONA’S SALE STANCE REVEALED AS 8 OFFERS ARRIVE FOR MIKA FAYE

A fresh insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona for defender Mika Faye has on Friday been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards the brass at the Camp Nou facing a major decision…

Defender Faye for his part enjoyed something of a breakout campaign in Catalunya’s capital in 2023/24.

After quickly establishing himself as an undisputed starter at the heart of Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic backline, a series of call-ups to the first-team setup followed.

The 19-year-old has since gone on to make his bow for the Senegalese national team, too, notching a stunning goal on his debut.

And yet, despite all of this, Faye is yet to actually take to the pitch for Barcelona at senior level.

Amid something of an overbooking at centre-back in incoming manager Hansi Flick’s squad, it has in turn been suggested that the stopper could be shifted for a quick profit this summer.

And, safe to say, Barcelona would not be short on options if they did choose to take such a route.

As per the aforementioned Sport, ‘more than eight clubs’ have already made contact with the Blaugrana, with a view to a summer deal for Faye.

Deco and co, however, have to date stood firm.

Faye was recently promised a chance to prove himself worthy of a place in Barca’s first-team ranks for next season.

And the club’s board and coaching staff alike intend to stick to their word regarding as much.

It is in turn concluded that:

‘He will do the preseason and the final decision will be made, but Barça are reluctant to sell him even though they could get a lot of financial return.’
