Barcelona will not sign Bernardo Silva from Man City this summer

Barcelona have reportedly given up hope of trying to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer.

Marca and Diario Sport are both reporting that the Portugal international will not be joining the Catalans despite previous speculation suggesting a deal could happen.

The main reason is because Bernardo’s buyout clause of 60 million euros expire at the end of the month and Barca’s finances simply won’t be in order by that date.

If Barcelona were to move for Bernardo later this summer they would have to negotiate a fee with Manchester City who are expected to demand a far higher price.

Barcelona continue to be linked with a host of players with Dani Olmo, Nico Williams, Luis Diaz and Jeremie Frimpong the current favourites of the rumor mill.

The Catalans may still end up doing business with Manchester City this summer though, as another loan deal for Joao Cancelo appears to be in the offing.
