In a major relief, journalist Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona have received a three-day extension on the deadline to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in La Liga.
The extension has been granted by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), with La Liga giving its ‘OK’ to the same as well.
This comes as a major reprieve for the Blaugrana who were facing a race against time to register both Olmo and Victor before midnight tonight.
After facing setbacks in their attempts to get the registration via the judicial route, Barcelona have moved on to the sale of the VIP seat packages at the new Spotify Camp Nou for €100 million to secure the duo’s registration.
The agreement for the operation is in place and the necessary documentation has also been sent to La Liga for verification and validation, which is taking a lot of time.
If Barça did not receive the approval from La Liga, they would stare at the prospect of losing Olmo for free, due to a special clause in his contract.
However, it must be noted that Olmo’s agent made it clear today that the player has no plans to leave and intends to stay at the club.
As for Victor, it was reported that the 23-year-old attacker could be sent out on loan if unregistered.
