The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday to keep chase with the Detroit Lions in the NFC, but got a lucky break .
The Eagles came from behind to win 24-19 on the road at M&T Bank Stadium, but got away with an offensive false start as quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for a touchdown in the second quarter. The Eagles brought out their infamous tush-push to bundle Hurts in from the one-yard line, but the left side of the offensive line appeared to move early.
The call was missed, and the touchdown stood, which ended up being the decisive score to hand Philadelphia the win. Ravens fans were furious when seeing a replay of the touchdown, and instantly called out the officials.
“Refs hate the Ravens. We’ve known this,” one fan wrote. “The entire left side of the Eagles offensive line was in the end zone at the snap — and somehow no false start was called,” another questioned.
One Eagles fan even admitted that it was a poor call, as they wrote: “I’m an Eagles fan and I didn’t like that call. A win is a win, but I hate to have the same feelings as Chiefs fans, knowing you only won the game because of the officials.”
The Ravens were cruising heading into the second quarter, as tight end Mark Andrews scored the opening touchdown of the game after Justin Tucker had already kicked a field goal. However, Tucker missed the extra point attempt, which impacted the rest of his game.
