Arsenal look set for a very busy end to the summer transfer window despite having finally agreed to sign Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad. The Gunners had been intensely chasing the 28-year-old for the last few weeks with the final fee agreed upon by both parties earlier this week
Arteta and Edu was to sign a midfielder. With that aim now set to be completed, Arsenal can turn their attention elsewhere with less than seven days remaining of the ongoing trading period.
Though new signings could arrive, multiple departures are more likely with Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson all with good chances of leaving. Fabio Vieira has since entered that category with former club Porto agreeing to bring him back on loan.

It initially came as a shock but in reality it is perhaps no surprise Arsenal have allowed Vieira to depart the club for the upcoming season.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Portugal international is finalising a move back to his former club Porto. It has been noted elsewhere though, that they must first sell Francisco Conceicao who is in talks to join Juventus.
