Arsenal have received a huge Eddie Nketiah transfer update amid interest in the striker from Marseille. The French club launched several bids in an attempt to sign the striker, though the Gunners rejected their advances as it fell below their valuation of Nketiah.
The opening offer from Marseille was immediately rebuffed with their second proposal structured appealingly to Arsenal, but still below the required asking price. A third bid was submitted last week with Arsenal prepared to sanction a loan exit for Nketiah with Marseille then paying in the region of £25.7million (€30m) to sign him permanently next summer.
With the ball in Marseille’s court, Mikel Arteta chose to keep Nketiah on the bench for the Emirates Cup victory over Lyon on Sunday, fuelling exit rumours further, however the Arsenal boss squashed that talk in his post-match press conference.
When asked if there was any update on Nketiah, he said: “All the players that are here, that’s the biggest chance that they’ll stay with us. That’s why there here.” Arsenal, who had already sold Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham in a £34million deal, did not need to sanction more exits and therefore stuck to their valuation
