Ben White and Emile Smith Rowe are two of six Arsenal stars who have linked up with Mikel Arteta for a training camp in Marbella in preparation for the start of pre-season.
Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Fabio Vieira and Jurrien Timber have also made the trip and they will soon be joined by club captain Martin Odegaard, as well as Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus.
The training camp is not viewed as part of Arsenal’s official pre-season plans, but the idea is to give the players an early fitness boost ahead of what Arteta and the club view as a crucial season.
Families have been allowed to travel and aside from a scheduled training session each day, the players will be able to treat the trip as a holiday and spend their time as they wish.
Arteta will have his coaching staff with him and it is expected that sporting director Edu will soon fly out to join the group while they are away.
Arsenal will travel to the United States for their pre-season tour towards the end of July where they will face Manchester United (July 28) and Liverpool (August 1).
A third fixture for the tour will also soon be confirmed.
Arteta’s squad will then return to London where they will host Bayer Leverkusen (August 7) and Lyon (August 11) in the Emirates Cup before kicking off their Premier League campaign at home to Wolves on August 17.
