Arsenal are due to hold talks with the agent of a £25m-rated attacker who starred at Euro 2024.
Sporting director Edu Gaspar will be hard at work behind the scenes working on a number of deals to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s ranks.
Riccardo Calafiori is thought to be closing in on a move to Arsenal and so too is Tommy Setford, who’s set to join from Ajax.
Now, it has just emerged, that they’re due for talks with Turkey international.
Arsenal to hold talks Baris Alper Yilmaz
According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Arsenal are set to hold talks with the agent of Galatasaray attacker Baris Alper Yilmaz.
The Turkey international starred at Euro 2024 and enjoyed a phenomenal season for the Super Lig champions, netting seven times whilst laying on 12 assists.
Yilmaz is extremely versatile – a trait Arteta is big on – as he can operate on both flanks, as a number nine and even at both full-back positions.
Though, Arsenal aren’t alone in their pursuit of the 24-year-old, as North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also due to meet with his agent.
It’s understood a bid in the region of £25m will be enough to convince Galatasaray to sanction his sale.
Virgil van Dijk hailed Baris Alper Yilmaz
Following Netherlands’ 2-1 victory against Turkey at Euro 2024, Virgil van Dijk admitted that he struggled to defend against Yilmaz and labelled him ‘really important’.
As quoted by Milliyet, the Dutch defender said: “Baris Alper Yilmaz was running constantly. He was running elusive. It was difficult for every defender.
“He made it very hard for us. He couldn’t score a goal though. If we were to describe him in any way, he is a really important player.”
