Arsenal cruised to victory in their penultimate Champions League ‘league phase’ match, defeating Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening. The north Londoners will head into this weekend’s clash full of confidence, but Wolves have had the luxury of a week to prepare.
While Arteta puts his players through their paces, he’ll be hoping his higher-ups are working hard to sign him a new striker.
Arsenal sent Sesko update
Marco Rose has insisted that Benjamin Sesko won’t be allowed to leave RB Leipzig during the January transfer window. The 21-year-old striker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this month, fired the German outfit to a 2-1 win over Sporting in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Sesko, who sees his deal at the Red Bull Arena expire in June 2029, has featured seven times in the European top flight this season, scoring four goals. Despite his best efforts, the Slovenia international hasn’t managed to lead RB Leipzig to the next round of the competition.
Speaking to reporters after the Sporting clash, Rose insisted he will not sanction a move this month. When asked by Sky Germany if Sesko will ‘definitely not be allowed to leave the club in the winter’, he replied: “Yes, that’s still the case!”
Wolves set Cunha price tag
Arsenal have been told how much they need to pay to sign Matheus Cunha. According to the Mirror, the Gunners are joined by Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest in the race to secure the 25-year-old striker’s signature.
Arteta issues injury update
Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori. Speaking on TNT Sports ahead of the Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal boss was quizzed on the Hale End graduate’s omission from the matchday squad.
