Arsenal got back to winning ways in Premier League action after beating Crystal Palace for the second time in four days. Following draws against Fulham and Everton, the Gunners were in need of three points and they got exactly that with the gap to Liverpool closing before they face Tottenham on Sunday
Gabriel Jesus, fresh off scoring a hat-trick against the same opponents, opened the scoring with a smart finish from inside the box. The Gunners’ lead did not last long however with Ismaila Sarr equalising only for Jesus to score again moments later.
Though Arsenal were back in front, Mikel Arteta was handed a huge blow with Bukayo Saka forced off because of a hamstring injury. In his absence, Arsenal continued pushing forward with Kai Havertz adding a third after reacting quickest to Jesus’ header hitting the post.
Gabriel Martinelli then directed a Declan Rice shot into the back of the net for Arsenal’s fourth with the latter grabbing a fifth late on. Courtesy of their victory, the Gunners have thrown the challenge down to Chelsea and Liverpool with those two facing Everton and Tottenham on Sunday, respectively.
