Arsenal bounced back from dropping points against Fulham with a strong 3-0 victory over Monaco in the Champions League.
Gabriel Jesus was guilty of missing two chances early on but provided an excellent cross for Bukayo Saka to open the scoring with Myles Lewis-Skelly, making his first European start, superb in the build up.
Martin Odegaard also sent a 1vs1 wide of the target with Monaco’s defensive frailties on full show in the opening 45 minutes. The Gunners had more chances at goal in the second period but failed to increase their advantage until Saka doubled his total for the evening in the 78th minute.
Off the bench, Kai Havertz added a third late on as he turned home Saka’s cross with a deflection off Thilo Kehrer sending the ball into the roof of the net. Focus for Arsenal is now firmly on domestic competitions with four Premier League games and a Carabao Cup clash arriving in the next three weeks.
