Arsenal’s search for a new striker seems to be leading them down a few dead ends at the moment.
The Gunners’ pursuit of Benjamin Sesko didn’t go to plan as the RB Leipzig striker has decided to stay in the Bundesliga, while their interest in the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney doesn’t seem to be progressing.
Joshua Zirkzee is said to be a player Arsenal are still keen on, but with AC Milan closing in on signing the Dutchman, Arsenal need to hurry up if they’re to sign the £50m striker.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Zirkzee’s future, and what Arsenal have been told about the striker.
What Arsenal have been told about Joshua Zirkzee
According to Jones, Arsenal have been told they have to make their move quickly if they want to sign Zirkzee.
“Last week I was told that intermediaries have been in touch with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea and they were told that if you’re going to move for him, you have to do it now because we’re close to this move to stay inside Serie A. That was sort of a final warning, if you want to get in on this you have to go now,” Jones said.
Zirkzee clock is ticking
The clock is ticking for Arsenal to get involved in this deal.
When AC Milan have a deal on the table, you don’t hang around and wait to see if any better offers are going to arrive.
Zirkzee is edging closer and closer to joining Milan, and that window of opportunity for Arsenal to get involved in this deal is closing.
Whether or not Arsenal do end up making this move for Zirkzee remains to be seen, but if they do want to get involved in this race, they need to act quickly.
Keep an eye on any movement on the Zirkzee front in the coming days.
