Arsenal’s latest piece of summer business was confirmed on Friday after Emile Smith Rowe completed his £34million move to Fulham. The 24-year-old midfielder has penned a five-year deal, keeping him at Craven Cottage until 2029, with a club option of a further 12 months.
The deal is set to help fund more incoming transfer business as Mikel Arteta tries to bolster his squad ahead of the new season. David Raya has already made his loan move permanent in a £27m switch from Brentford, while Riccardo Calafiori has joined from Bologna for around £42m.
And the Gunners hope to get more bodies through the door before the end of the summer window. Mikel Merino is a name that caught the eye with the Gunners reportedly ‘close’ to signing the Spain international. Meanwhile, the search for another attacker continues with several players linked.
