Arsenal could be set for a busy few final weeks of the summer transfer window with Mikel Arteta and Edu pushing for more new signings. The Gunners have already brought in Riccardo Calafiori as their marquee arrival while Emile Smith Rowe is the big departure from Emirates Stadium.
Calafiori has been joined by David Raya and Tommy Setford as permanent transfers in with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares as two to exit north London alongside Smith Rowe. Reiss Nelson, Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah could all leave with a huge update emerging on the latter.
As for more potential arrivals, Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino looks to be the most likely addition with midfield identified as a position the club want to strengthen in. Youssouf Fofana and Martin Zubimendi have also been linked but both of those options are now being targeted by other Premier League clubs.
Liverpool are now in pole position to acquire the services of Zubimendi and that could have a major impact on the future of his teammate Merino.
