While we’re accustomed to seeing award-winning actress Amy Adams dazzling on the red carpet with her signature red hair perfectly styled and her makeup flawlessly polished, at home she paints a very different picture.
Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine, the American actress– who’s latest movie is Nightbitch, a dark comedic depiction of Motherhood – spoke about her previous decision not to wear makeup in public.
Reflecting on her daughter’s childhood, the 50-year-old recalls Aviana asking her to embrace a more natural look. ‘She didn’t like me wearing makeup,’ Adams revealed, before adding, ‘She’s like, “I just want you to look like Mum, not like Amy Adams.”‘And I was like, “You got it.” So there were years when I didn’t wear makeup wherever we went. I mean, I sneaked some mascara. But yeah, I wouldn’t wear makeup because she wanted me to be just mum.’
Fast-forward a few years to the present day, Adams has revealed that her now 14-year-old daughter’s thoughts on her mum’s presentation have shifted somewhat. ‘I’m usually the least manicured at my household, but lately, per my daughter’s request, I’m working on an upgrade.
