Arsenal ignored ‘attitude’ comments to complete £21m transfer and will have no regrets

It’s 18 months since Arsenal completed the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton, in which time the forward has become a key figure in the club’s pursuit of trophies.

The Gunners signed Trossard from Brighton in January 2023 in a deal worth £21million plus add-ons. Since then, the forward has scored 19 goals in 71 appearances and played a key role in helping Arsenal challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title in each of the last two seasons.

Trossard already has one goal to his name this season and will be looking to enjoy a similarly successful season as last term when he found the back of the net 17 times. However, this week has seen the forward be the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal rejected a bid worth €35million (£29.4million) from Saudi Pro league club Al Ittihad for Trossard on Monday. The Gunners had no intention of allowing the Belgium international to leave the Emirates Stadium, with the transfer window in Saudi Arabia closing on Monday night.
