The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have informed the entourage of one of the club’s next crop of up-and-coming stars of their intention to renew his contract.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Recent weeks have of course seen confirmation forthcoming of talks between the Barca brass and a number of breakthrough talents, over the terms of respective extensions to their deals.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, next in line is Marc Guiu.
Frontman Guiu’s future at the Camp Nou had come under the microscope over recent days, amid suggestions that Barcelona could be open to his sale, amid interest on the part of Sevilla.
As per the aforementioned MD, however, as much, in fact, appears to be out of the question.
This comes with ‘first conversations having been held for the renewal and adaptation of his contract’, currently due to expire in the summer of 2025.
Though formal negotiations are yet to take place, there is confidence on the part of both parties that an an agreement will not prove difficult to come by, with Guiu eager to carve out a long-term position for himself in Barcelona’s attacking ranks.
