The summer transfer window is almost over with Arsenal and their rivals having just a matter of days to conclude their summer business.
The Gunners have added so far added two senior signings to their squad since the end of last season. David Raya made his loan move from Brentford while Riccardo Calafiori joined from Bologna after an impressive Euros campaign with Italy.
Clubs have until 11pm on Friday, August 31 to complete their business with teams working hard on both incomings and outgoings. For Mikel Arteta, concentration will be on matters on the pitch.
Complete Mikel Merino transfer
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of midfielder Mikel Merino, after what seems like a long saga. The Real Sociedad man is expected to finalise his move to the Emirates Stadium soon, and will become the third signing of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal reached an agreement of around £28 million with £3.5 million in add-ons for the Spaniard late last week. It is reported that he will put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract with the option of an extra 12 months.
