Burnley have opened talks with Manchester United over the signing of an unfancied midfielder, while Chelsea have been tipped to make a shock approach for a player United will sell for £40m.

Pellistri is poised to sign with Greek side Panathinaikos in a deal worth roughly €6m/£5.1m. Man Utd have successfully inserted a sell-on clause into their agreement with Panathinaikos.
