Arsenal still somehow have Alexander Isak transfer hope following a number of huge Newcastle decisions. The Gunners have been consistently linked to the Sweden international ever since he joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad back in the summer of 2022.
Injuries have impacted Isak since his arrival at St James’ Park, though his form towards the end of last season was exceptional with 13 goal contributions arriving in as many games. With Newcastle needing to solve some severe financial problems, alongside his purple patch, exit links for Isak began emerging.
Though the enormous asking price looked set to scare off potential suitors, Arsenal’s interest remained with Chelsea also making an enquiry as the June 30 PSR deadline approached. With a marquee sale desperately needed, Anthony Gordon looked set to be the player sacrificed as a move to Liverpool was agreed.
However, Yankuba Minteh was instead the senior play sold with Brighton agreeing a £30million to sign him. Following that, any exit for Gordon, Isak and Bruno Guimaraes looked unlikely especially with the latter duo both publicly commenting on their love for Newcastle.
