Mikel Merino to Arsenal is becoming quite the transfer saga as the Gunners continue to push to sign the Spaniard.
It was reported last month that personal terms were agreed for Merino to join Arsenal, but there has been complication after complication in terms of getting this deal over the line.
With 10 days to go in the transfer window, time is running out to get this deal over the line.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now shared a message to Arsenal fans about this deal on his YouTube channel, and he now says that Gunners supporters don’t need to worry about Merino coming, stating that a deal is very much expected to be done.
Mikel Merino expected to sign for Arsenal
Romano shared a message about Merino.
“Let me tell you here guys. Do not worry Arsenal fans, Merino is coming and he is coming very soon. They are sorting the final details of the deal, but Merino is fully expected to become an Arsenal player in the final 10 or 11 days of the summer transfer window,” Romano said.
Mikel Merino deal has dragged on
Romano says that Arsenal fans shouldn’t be worried about this deal getting done, but it’s hard not to be at least a little bit concerned.
Indeed, this deal has dragged on and on over the past few weeks, and when something takes this long, fans are, inevitably, going to become a bit nervous.
Luckily, it does sound as though we’re close to reaching a positive conclusion to this story.
Merino is clearly one of Arsenal’s top transfer targets this summer, and it does sound like the north London club are going to get this deal done.
Don’t be surprised if Merino is announced as an Arsenal player at some point this week.
The Gunners are running out of time, but they still have plenty of business to tend to.
