Arsenal have confirmed that defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy has joined Genoa in a permanent transfer.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at the Gunners but failed to make a first-team appearance during his time at the club. The right-back has spent time out on loan at Lincoln, Rotherham, Coventry and Millwall, amassing over 106 senior appearances before returning to the Emirates earlier this summer.
Unfortunately for Norton-Cuffy, the competition for places ahead of him in the Arsenal first-team is fierce. Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey have all featured in his position in recent years. And now, Norton-Cuffy has made the decision to continue his development elsewhere.
He has joined Serie A outfit Genoa, who finished 11th last season, on a five-year contract for a reported fee of around £1.7m plus another £1.7m in performance-related add-ons. A sell-on fee has been included in the deal. He will wear the No.15 shirt in his first year in Serie A.
