Martin Ødegaard nominated for major individual award

Arsenal midfielder, and club captain, Martin Ødegaard, has today been nominated for a highly prestigious individual award ahead of the new Premier League season.

It has today been revealed that the Norwegian star has been shortlisted for the PFA (Professional Footballer’s Association) Player’s Player of the Year award – for the second successive season.

In what has come as a surprise to many, neither Bukayo Saka nor Declan Rice, Ødegaard’s Arsenal teammates, have been included in the shortlist – despite the duo both enjoying exceptional years for their club and country.

Ødegaard’s inclusion in the shortlist for the award should come as little shock to fans, after he scored 11 goals as well as contributing 11 assists in the last season – although he is not considered the front-runner for the award.
