Arsenal news and transfers LIVE – Bid made, personal terms agreed, Osimhen call, Merino talks

Arsenal live bringing you up to speed with all things from Eddie Nketiah to Victor Osimhen. It’s already been a busy summer at the Emirates Stadium and the final three weeks promise to be no different.

The Gunners are still waiting to get a deal over the line for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino and there have been new twists in his saga. The Spaniard did not travel with his teammates to Germany ahead of Friday’s nighttime friendly against Union Berlin.

It has been reported that it is injury related but suggestions are that the player is waiting for a transfer agreement to be reached. Meanwhile, former La Real favourite for Arsenal, Martin Zubimendi, is in talks to join Liverpool. Whoever strikes first here could take a big advantage.

Arsenal are also looking at sales though with the futures of Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah of high importance. Mikel Arteta gave little away when asked about the pair on Wednesday but Nketiah has attracted another bid from Marseille, Fabrizio Romano says.

We’ll have the latest on his possible exit from the club but also bring you updates on his possible replacement. That name is not going to be Victor Osimhen if the Italian media is to be believed.

Arsenal are said to have fully backed out of any discussions to sign the player having hardly been in them. Viktor Gyokeres is still available though, as is Dominic Solanke. Ivan Toney is another forward to watch for Arsenal in the final weeks.
