Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has made a bold claim that could surprise many. The Norway international, regarded as one of the best playmakers in the world, has been outstanding for the Gunners since joining them permanently in 2021.
Odegaard, who spent time with some of the greatest players of this generation at Real Madrid, knows talent when he sees it. He believes that one of his current teammates at Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko, is comparable to Lionel Messi.
The Gunners acquired Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for £32 million. The Ukrainian international was seen as a solid addition, and he made an immediate impact alongside fellow signing Gabriel Jesus, helping elevate Arsenal’s young squad to challenge for the Premier League title.
