Ex-Man City ace and Merino signed – Arsenal’s dream final month of transfer window

Arsenal’s summer transfer window finally sparked into life with the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori late last month.

The defender, who caught the eye at Euro 2024, put pen to paper on a deal worth up to £42million, add-ons included

Calafiori was the first new addition to the Arsenal squad this summer, but the Italian wasn’t the only deal the Gunners had completed during the off-season.

David Raya, who had spent last summer on loan at the north London outfit, made his move from Brentford a permanent one, with the Bees receiving £27million from the Premier League hopefuls.

It takes Arsenal’s summer spending to close to £70m, but more additions are expected to arrive before the window slams shut later this month.
