Arsenal has recently reached an agreement to meet Napoli’s asking price for Victor Osimhen, but there is a problem that needs to be resolved. – journalist…

Arsenal has agreed to pay the amount requested by Napoli for Victor Osimhen, but a complication has surfaced.

The transfer discussions surrounding Victor Osimhen are intensifying, with Arsenal emerging as a potential contender.

The Gunners have already secured Riccardo Calafiori this summer, and David Raya’s loan has been converted into a permanent transfer. Additionally, Arsenal is close to finalizing a deal for Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.

This summer has been promising for the Premier League runners-up, but it appears that Arsenal is ready to make a substantial investment to acquire one of the world’s top strikers, Osimhen.

Nonetheless, there remains a major challenge that Arsenal must overcome to finalize this transfer.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen is facing a significant challenge. Osimhen is considered one of the top number nines in global football.

The Nigerian player possesses speed, strength, aerial ability, and a clinical touch in front of goal. His impressive track record demonstrates his prolific scoring ability when he is in good physical condition.

Despite expectations of Osimhen leaving Napoli for a larger club this summer, there has been no movement thus far. This is due to his £113 million release clause, which has deterred potential suitors.

However, according to Radio Radio’s Ilario Di Giovambattista, Arsenal is reportedly prepared to meet Napoli’s demands in order to secure Osimhen’s signature.

The main issue lies with PSG.

The journalist disclosed that Osimhen has reached an agreement with the French powerhouse, who are willing to offer him a larger sum of money compared to Arsenal if he decides to join them.

Nonetheless, Arsenal’s proposal to Napoli exceeds what PSG is willing to pay.

Giovambattista mentioned on X: “Arsenal is focusing on Osimhen. As previously reported on RadioRadioLoSport in recent days, the English club is keen on acquiring the Nigerian forward and is meeting Napoli’s financial demands.

“However, Osimhen has a deal in place with PSG, who are assuring him a significantly higher salary than Arsenal.

“Hence, while the English are offering more to Napoli, the French are offering more to the player. Who will emerge victorious?”

Arsenal faced four major challenges as they entered the summer transfer window.

The team required reinforcements at left-back, in the left side of central midfield, on the right wing to support Bukayo Saka, and up front.

The signing of Calafiori addressed the left-back problem, while Merino proved to be a solid addition in midfield. This leaves two remaining issues to be tackled – Osimhen could potentially resolve one of them.

If the Nigerian striker joins Arsenal, they would immediately become strong contenders for the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.

While Arsenal might not have the financial resources to acquire a new right-winger, solving three out of four key issues in a single transfer window is a significant achievement. It would mark a nearly flawless summer for the club.
