Arsenal ended the first half of their pre-season friendly with Manchester United at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles at 1-1.
The Gunners fell behind early on when Rasmus Hojlund seized on to Marcus Rashford’s ball over the top and raced away from Ayden Heaven. His near post shot then went past Karl Hein.
They were back level not too long after though. Gabriel Jesus tapped home Ethan Nwaneri’s cross despite a hint of offside in the build up to the goal.
Karl Hein: Could he have been stronger for the Hojlund goal? Probably. A decent, if unorthodox, save from Amad Diallo earlier on though. 6.
Ben White: Got up and down the flank well. Resumed his good partnership with Odegaard and linked up well with Reiss Nelson. 6.
Jurrien Timber: Continues to look like a viable option at the heart of defence. His distribution in particular looks great. 6.
Ayden Heaven: Maybe shouldn’t have been left alone, but was absolutely bullied for the goal by Hojlund. A wake up call moment that he’ll want to forget. Did have some nice moments on the ball after that though. 5.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: One awful pass nearly played Jorginho into trouble in the middle of the park. Diallo seemed to get in behind him a little too easily. 5.
Jorginho: Switched on defensively throughout and a decent option on the ball as per usual. Showed his leadership to go over and pick Heaven up after the goal. 6.
Martin Odegaard: Boshed around by Casemiro, but still showed his quality in moments. One shot from distance that was unfortunate to be blocked. 6.
Ethan Nwaneri: Looks at home in the first team set up. Links with his teammates well and grabbed an assist even if there was a hint of offside. Could have scored one himself too. 8.
Reiss Nelson: Continues to look bright on this pre-season tour. Created Nwaneri’s chance and was a decent threat on the right wing after starring on the left against Bournemouth. 7.
Gabriel Jesus: Surely offside for the goal, but it’ll be good for his stats. Arteta will probably be more pleased with the intensity to win the ball off Yoro, although his finish on that occasion left a bit to be desired. 6.
Leandro Trossard: Showed his class consistently in a multitude of positions across the front line. Primarily on the left wing where his touch was phenomenal. 7.
